Camp out?

Sara really wanted to camp out in the back yard.  She made quite the "tent".  The night was just a little too chilly to camp out, but she sure had fun pretending until bedtime.

Camping Trip

We've had an incredibly busy summer and didn't have a chance to squeeze in a family camping trip. This weekend was our first 'non busy' weekend so we packed up the car and away we went. We didn't go far just over to Gardner Canyon. The weather was perfect!! It kept threatening to rain while we were setting up camp and we were getting a little anxious cooking in the rain. Thankfully, it didn't rain until well after dinner when we were settled for the night. In the morning after breakfast we took a short hike and enjoyed Heavenly Father's creations. There's something about being in nature it's just so calm and peaceful. It's rejuvenating!

Fathers & Sons

Our boys LOVE camping!!
They had a great time at this year's fathers and sons camp out.
I'm so grateful they have the chance to participate in fun activities like this.

Spring Break

Over the break, the kids & I drove out to visit my favorite aunt. We had so much fun!! The boys are still talking about Aunt Mir's "fancy tv". My little cousin received a scholarship to attend a university not too far from us. Hooray!! We're so proud of Steffi!!! We are so going to visit you and bug you while you're at school!! On the way back from Aunt Mir's we decided to stop and camp at City of the Rocks.

Jared LOVES to roast marshmallows.

Daniel & Jared had so much fun exploring.

We can't wait to go back!!

Veteran's Day Weekend

These photos were taken earlier in the month and I forgot to post them until now. Oops!

For Veteran's Day the boys had a little break from school so we decided to have a little fun. We took a quick camping trip. Don't the boys look proud of the fire they helped Dad build? Personally, I thought the fire pits at the campsite were fabulous!!!

Happy little campers waking up.

Unfortunately, Aimee had to get back for a rehearsal so we weren't able to spend too much time at the camp ground. Because of all the cool things we didn't get a chance to see, Aimee & the kids took a day trip back to the area with the B family. The kids ran all over the place trying to accumulate all 18 punches on their treasure map. They visited the two gift shops, the museum, the petting zoo, dressed up in period clothing, they panned for gold, took a hike, explored a butterfly garden, and saw the entrance to the bat cave. Of course, if you ask Jared what he remembers most, he'll tell you all about the bees that tried to join our picnic!! Good times!!!

Camping Trip

I don't know what it is about camping
but our little family just LOVES it!!!

Our little guy was up early and eager for a morning hike.

Our little girl, already an experienced camper,
is looking forward to her first hike!!

Yikes! What's that?!?

I realize that I'm not the best photographer, but if you look closely you'll see a spider web, an unlucky grasshopper, and a spider looking forward to a tasty lunch.

Happy campers, all is well.
Whew! That was exhausting!! ;-)
